Breakfast Smoothie
Anyone that knows me knows we love a good breakfast smoothie at our house! We drink a smoothie every morning with breakfast and have for over 14 years. As of today, we have used our blender 6318 times since we bought it 14 years ago. We start the kids on them as soon as they can drink through a straw- usually at about 10 months old. We add their daily vitamins to it also.
One of the most common questions I get is what is in it and why. So today I lay it all out.. the ingredients and what they offer you. This recipe makes four kids smoothies and two adult size smoothies. Feel free to play with it as you like but keep it vegetables and fruit!
Smoothies are best made in a high speed blender to make sure every item gets blended well. We have a BlendTec blender. It was an investment (it was about $300 back then) but we have now had it over 14 years and it is still going strong! We are down to it costing us $0.04 cents a smoothie plus ingredients… that is a little cheaper than a smoothie king type place.
We also love a good Green Smoothie if you want to try that recipe too!
