Cinnamon Glazed Walnuts

Do you have 5 minutes and just 5 ingredients? You can make Cinnamon Glazed Walnuts. They are just a little sweet, just a little cinnamony and the perfect snack, appetizer or gift for a neighbor this Christmas season.

Glazed nuts are a Christmas tradition. I remember my grandmother used to make all appetizers for our Christmas Eve family gathering. She called them Tasty Danties. My first business was a little baking business I called Tasty Danties in her honor. Anyway, the table would be filled with cheese straws, cookies, pigs in a blanket, raw veggies and fruit, homemade pickles, and bowls of homemade spiced or sweetened nuts. As a child, I did not appreciate the pecans and walnuts as much as I do now. They are perfectly sweet.

A little bag of Cinnamon Glazed Walnuts would make the perfect gift for a neighbor, teacher or friend this Christmas season too!

Why Make Cinnamon Glazed Walnuts?

Walnuts are the often over looked, but possibly most nutritious, of all the nuts. They have higher omega 3 content than any other nut. They are packed with fiber, healthy fats and protein. Walnuts have antioxidants and polyphenols which can reduce LDL cholesterol and inflammation. Walnuts are rich in vitamins and minerals, with prominent sources including manganese, copper, magnesium, and phosphorus. They are also a good source of folate, vitamin B6, vitamin E, iron, and zinc.Additionally, walnuts provide other nutrients like potassium, calcium, selenium, and B vitamins.

Cinnamon is also a nutritional powerhouse.
Cinnamon offers benefits like blood sugar control, improved insulin sensitivity, reduced cholesterol/triglycerides, strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and antimicrobial properties that fight bacteria/fungi, supporting heart and brain health, and potentially easing allergy symptoms.
